RiderRadar Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 18, 2026 | Last Updated: September 29, 2026

1. Introduction

RiderRadar ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile app, website, and services (collectively, the "Services").

By creating an account or using RiderRadar, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the data needed to operate RiderRadar and improve your experience.

a. Information You Provide

  • Name, username, email address, and password
  • Profile photo (optional)
  • Motorcycle information (make, model, year)
  • Messages and group chat content
  • Friend lists and block lists
  • Support requests or feedback

b. Information Collected Automatically

  • Location data when you enable a location-dependent feature. Exact live coordinates are used transiently for authorized real-time features; durable rider-presence data is designed to be coarser where exact coordinates are not required.
  • Device and app information such as device type, operating-system version, app version, and push-notification token.
  • Security and diagnostic data such as IP address, timestamps, request/security logs, and limited crash/error diagnostics.
  • Purchase status needed to verify and maintain app-store subscription entitlements.

c. Service Providers and Platform Services

  • Apple and Google platform services for sign-in, app distribution, and in-app subscription billing where used
  • Expo services for mobile build/update and push-notification delivery
  • Map/location providers used to display maps and provide geolocation features
  • Sentry for limited crash/error diagnostics configured to minimize unnecessary personal data
  • Hosted application, PostgreSQL database, and object-storage infrastructure used to operate RiderRadar
  • Stripe for event-ticket commerce where that feature is used; RiderRadar Business Pro mobile subscriptions are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play
  • Email-delivery providers used for transactional messages

RiderRadar does not currently use an advertising network to sell or target ads using your personal information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide RiderRadar features like nearby riders, RiderBeacon, and chat
  • Send push notifications (ride invitations, group messages, friend requests)
  • Prevent fraud and maintain security
  • Improve and debug the app
  • Provide customer support
  • Comply with legal obligations

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Sharing Your Information

We share data only when necessary:

  • With service providers and platform operators that are necessary to run the features you use, such as hosting/database infrastructure, object storage, app-store billing, push notifications, maps/location, crash diagnostics, and transactional email
  • With other users (only information you choose to share, like your location or profile)
  • When required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property
  • In anonymized/aggregated form for analytics

We do not share your exact location with third parties for advertising purposes.

  • Application-level protection for designated sensitive fields
  • Access controls, rate limits, audit/security logging, and restricted administrative paths

10. Cookies and Tracking

RiderRadar does not use third-party advertising cookies or an advertising network. Web-based surfaces may use essential session/authentication storage. Native mobile features may use local storage and limited diagnostic tooling needed to operate and secure the app.
